"Hands-free Travel" Trial started in March 2004
"Hands-free Travel" Trial started in March 2004 with a goal of achieving the maximum comfort and safety for the traveling public at the airport. The passengers are given an option of using the "Hands free travel" and not only does the advanced information allow simplification of custom and immigration processing, it provides security at the highest level.
The "Hands-free Travel" Trial consists of the passenger depositing the checked baggage with the delivery company, checking in at the airport without the checked baggage, boarding the aircraft and picking up the baggage at the destination airport claim device. Through this trial, the separate operation of surface transportation by the delivery company and the air transportation by the airline is linked through the use of e-Tag (RFID). The baggage will be handled by the delivery company with e-Tag, where an IC Chip will be embedded in the delivery slip (e-Tag slip) or a card (e-Tag card).
