Overview Planned Activity
Develop and research of elemental technology, including tags and reader/writers which composes the next-generation airport systems.
(1)Review of the next generation operational systems, taking into consideration the operation, SPT/STB and trends.
(2)Research of e-Tag centering on the UHF Frequency RFID, reader/writer, printers and etc.
(3)Review standardization and compliance with ePC Global and IATA.

Planned Activity
Establish 3 sub working groups (for the time being) and based on the prescribed overview of planned activities, conduct extensive reviews.
(Each activity will be in cooperation with the Technical Committee, System Development Committee, other research divisions and/or sub working groups.)
System Review Sub Working Group
Review of the next generation operational systems, taking into consideration the operation, SPT/STB and trends.
- Review system requirements for a general purpose “Hands-Free” Travel model, taking into consideration, SPT/SBT
- Review system requirements for the realization of a common-use type (CUSS compatible) “Hands-Free” Travel.
- Review system requirements for a general purpose “Hands-Free” Travel model, taking into consideration, security and privacy information.
- Review system requirements for a general purpose “Hands-Free” Travel model, taking into consideration IATA compatibility.
- Review of a BRS through the effective use of e-Tag.
Tag/Device Review Sub Working Group
Research of e-Tag centering on the UHF Frequency RFID, reader/writer, printers and etc.
- Establish basic technology for UHF e-Tag (especially Gen2), reader/writer and printers
- Organize knowledge for the standardization of 13.56 MHz e-Tag, reader/writer and printers
- Review basic technology for IATA compatibility of e-Tag, reader/writer and printers
Technical Standardization Review Sub Working Group
Review standardization and compliance with ePC Global and IATA.
- Organize and review IATA required data (Gen2, data format) and provide advice to other SWGs
- Organize and review ePC Global and IATA standards and provide advice to other SWGs
- Exchange technical information with ePC Global (Japan) and Auto-ID Lab
- Provide recap of IATA related information to other Sub Working Groups
